Dear bloggers, how do you beautiful ladies have full time jobs and blog consistently?!
Work got a little overwhelming in the past month as you can see from my lack of posts. The stress and sleep deprivation is showing in my skin too. For breakouts, I'm trying to them under control with Vichy's anti-imperfection concentrate. It contains 4% salicylic acid (I love this ingredient) and targets localized breakouts.
So far I'm liking the product, but it deserves it's own review after I use it more consistently. I'll try to get it done before the school season starts so that some of you can make use of it.
So what's been going on with me OTHER than work? The bf and I planned a little getaway last weekend to Montreal and ate A LOT of food. It was the first road trip where I participated as a driver (*fist pump* for getting my full G drivers license recently).
Here's a mash of pictures from my 4 days trip. Bon appetite!
A food highlight: Schwartz smoked meat sandwich shop.
We ate here 3x in 3 days! I never thought smoked meat could be so moist and savory. Highly recommended!
Montreal’s famous poutine at La Banquise.
Guacamole over fries is a great combination. I suggest making your own version with McCain fries some time.
It's my 2nd time visiting Montreal and the city is really growing on me. It's a busy place but you don't feel the congestion that you get in Toronto. Montrealers really know how to enjoy their down time. We strolled through parks filled with picnic goers and leisure bikers everywhere.
Tools I traveled with:
Body and Soul brush set (my favourite brushes) filled with their blush and eyeshadow blending brush, some travel friendly MAC special edition brushes and a Quo liner brush. The essentials:
Top: MUFE cream blush in nip slip, Maybelline eyestudio gel liner, ELF golden bronzerBottom: Nars sheer glow foundation, Mark kay lipgloss in pink diamonds, Maybelline colossal mascara, UDPP and Maybelline stylish smokes quad
I've been trying to decide between going back to school to become a healthcare professional or renew a contract at my current job. In other words - be a care-free student OR start being a responsible 'adult' (even though I'm way past 18) with only 2 weeks vacation. I'm leaning towards an 'adult' so that I can start saving some $$ but it's so tempting to be a student again - bring on the exams as long as there are 4 month summer vacations to look forward to! Did you ever have to make this decision too?
That's my update so far, shout out to M.A.C.nunu for getting on my case =P. She does gorgeous looks and is quite the cook!
So how's everyone spending the last few weeks of summer?
Mira

O.M.G. That food looks SO good. My mouth is savouring right now and your pics are making me hungry!! XD I've only been to Montreal once to attend a wedding so I didn't really get to go see anything T__T. I so want to go there one day. It's such a nice place to visit not too far away from home ^^ Seems like you're in a different country right?? I like how light you pack, I'd do the same.
ReplyDeletep.s. Oh how was The Expendables?? I'm curious to know since I'm going to go see it with the fam!
Can't wait to hear the review. 4% salicylic acid is a lot more than in other products!
ReplyDeleteMmm the food looks yummy ^__^ I've only been to Toronto & Niagara Falls in Canada :\
Are you wearing makeup in the 3rd photo? If so..it looks so natural! Are those the products you use? If no..your skin looks great! What breakouts?! :O lol
oh i know what you mean - i really need to write a new update soon but SO BUSY! and oo must check out that vichy product. i haven't tried anything from vichy before but it looks good to help out with breakouts.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE MONTREAL. i went there a couple weeks ago. seriously i adore that city. the food is great. the environment is great. the shopping is great. after reading your post, i definitely want to go back and check it out! :)

*waves* Hey Mira! =) Your weekend trip to Montreal looks so fun *and* yummy. The smoked meat you had looks like pastrami. Wonder if it's similar? And I love the idea of guac over fries! Why didn't I think of that?! *^_^* Great to see you back.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving your blog -I've subscribed! :D
ReplyDeleteGotta love Schwartz..yummy!

ReplyDeleteWow. I totally miss North American food!
ReplyDeleteI've actually been thinking of going back to school too but I decided to put a big X on it. The idea is tempting but man, I think think I'll be up for it physically and mentally. It is so very draining. :D
I'll just be contempt with being a good housewife.
Oh by the way, you should try Photo Scape to put all your pictures together.
ReplyDelete@missmicchan Thanks! You should make a blog too!

ReplyDeletePS - I'm loving my iphone 4! people are saying they have signal problems but i have a case for mine and i haven't had any problems yet :) its my baby :)
i can't wait to finish school and become a responsible adult to start saving money too…i love shopping way too much. :(
For some obscure reason, your blog updates don't show up on my reader, hmph! what is up with that thing??!!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you got out and about! I've never been to Montreal, altho the boy did travel there for business and sent me taunting photos of their infamous smoked beef sandwiches.
Re the back to school or carry on working dilemma, it all depends, do you want to become a healthcare professional or are you happy with your current job? if you have to return to school inevitably, then you should get it over and done with while you're still young, it's so much harder to study and absorb knowledge when you're older.
I await more posts missy!xD
OOhh Montreal, love it there! And Schwartz is so good if you can find a table:) Love your makeup choices for your trip:)
ReplyDeleteomg, FOOD. sometimes the best part of traveling. Miss visiting montreal..think the last time was..over 12-13 years ago. the other thing i remember about it was the olympic stadium and the old cathedrals with dead saints and popes in them. (okay 2 things..).
ReplyDeletebreak-outs..
I never found salicylic acid useful :S..but then i have the oversensitive skin. (Solution i use now is eating fish oils, one in the evening and in the morning and it clears up in 2-3 days)
and on the topic of break-outs..post break out stuff. ><;
do u know of any good products good for acne scar healing?
the latest fads over here seem to be apple cider vinegar (yup..wiping it on ur face) and drops of rosehip oil..but i really have no idea what works.
and i just realize how far behind i am on everyone's blogs ><
(and dates in general..if today's the 19th..then two days ago it was my mom's bday...crap)
